BARBARA CANNELL: (co-founder) is a Bronx Native who started her theatrical career as an acting major at CCNY. After graduating she took time out to raise Rachel and Paul. Barbara is a Professional Fitness trainer, a certified deep tissue massage therapist, a Reiki Master, a Shamanic teacher and a healer. One high light of the last few years has been taking the stage with her daughter in a Steven's production of "The Vagina Monologues"; in addition she has performed the Vagina Monologues at SAFE in Hunterdon and continues to Support and Empower all men, women and children in crisis. Currently, Barbara is a Student at Raritan Valley Community College, majoring in Social Work and President of Student Government Association for the past two year at RVCC.
CAROLINE HANN: (co-founder) is originally from Maryland, and currently lives in Hunterdon County, NJ. Acting since the age of 9, Caroline has performed in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. While in New York, she was a founding member of the all-female sketch comedy group, The Flying Queens. In 2004, she became a social worker, and co-founded MTC as a way to combine her passion for social justice and theatre.
CYNDIE WIGGINS: (co-founder) has lived in Lebanon for the past 20 years with her daughter, Stefanie, and partner, Bob. She is a Change Management consultant and professional life coach. She also volunteers with SAFE in Hunterdon and is dedicated to serving the mission of the agency and ending violence against women everywhere. Cyndie is thrilled to be a part of the Meta Theatre Company and the possibility of positive change in her community and the world!
GINA SAMPAIO: never quite knew what her dream life would look like but somehow is managing to live it anyway. As a Hunterdon County native and lifelong social activist, she is thrilled by Meta Theatre Company’s existence and even more thrilled to become involved with it. She is currently a stay at home mom to five future superheroes and enjoys reading, writing, cooking, crafting and making funny videos with her family. None of it would be possible without the enduring support and encouragement of her husband.
CAROLYN GORMAN: is a working mother of two. She has studied and been involved in theatre in various settings. Most recently, she was in the local productions of "The Vagina Monologues" for the past three years. She is very excited about this show and hopes that her performance can help make strides toward positive change.
BERNADETTE CONTRERAS NOLL: has been a resident of Hunterdon County for just over a year. In college, she had a part in a "social justice" piece called "The Rule of the Division" which her amiga Alysia from "Union Latina" had written. This is the first time she is performing something she has created with the help of her amiga Alysia, fiance Scott and of course the entire cast and company of the Meta Theater Company. Her inspiration comes from the students she has taught over the years, her college awakening as well as the loving influence of her mother. She is so proud and honored to be performing next to such brave and beautiful women.
