The Meta Theatre Company (MTC) is seeking anonymous submissions from survivors of rape, sexual assault, molestation, stalking, or other power-based personal violence describing what they were wearing during a(n) incident(s) of violence. The submissions will be part of an upcoming event, inspired by the “What Were You Wearing? Survivor Art installations” seen on college campuses throughout the US (http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2017/sep/12/what-were-you-wearing-exhibit-ku-takes-aim-sexual-/).
Each submission will be paired with an outfit which reflects the survivor’s experience(s) in a walk-through installation. The intention of this event is to raise awareness around power-based personal violence and challenge patriarchal myths purported in our culture, and laws in our criminal justice system, which often blame the victim and does not produce justice or liberation.
Deadline for submissions is Saturday March 17, 2018. Submissions will be accepted via email (request a form from email@example.com) as well as in person on Saturday, March 3 at Flemington DIY 90 Main Street Flemington, NJ 08822 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM.
Friday, April 6th, 7:00 pm at Flemington DIY 90 Main Street Flemington, NJ 08822. Survivor Art Installation will remain up April 6th-April 27th. Donation at the door
